Reflective Practice for Coaches is a structured and facilitated group process supporting participants to continue their own professional learning through regular reflection sessions with like-minded colleagues.

Reflective Practice assumes knowledge and practice of coaching.

Groups are either:

  • Coaching/leadership teams from within the same organisation
  • Formed when a number of individuals register for an open-enrolment cohort.

About Reflective Practice for Coaches

Reflecting on practice is fundamental to continued learning and effectiveness as a coach. The more experienced a coach becomes, the clearer the realisation that reflecting on practice is pivotal to advancing coaching practice.

These sessions are active, deliberate and solution focused, informing practice and leading to developmental insight. Challenges and successes are explored within a safe and confidential learning environment of growth.

Reflective Practice assumes knowledge and practice of coaching and is suitable for individual coaches and coach teams who are seeking:

  • to advance their practice through engagement with others
  • to look at coaching from a broader perspective
  • opportunities to debrief on current coaching practice
  • to develop a habit of reflecting on practice through committing to scheduled sessions with others


Minimum Requirements

Participants in Reflective Practice should have attended the GCI Introduction to Leadership course, Coaching in Leadership or Coaching Accreditation Program. Participants should also have experience of applying their coaching skills in their workplace roles. 

Structure
Led by expert coach facilitators who have undertaken specialised professional learning, Reflective Practice for Coaches creates communities of practice with participants operating within agreed norms and protocols. After registering for this service either as an individual or a group, you will be contacted with next steps.

  • Sessions delivered through video conferencing
  • Set cohort dates and times

The Reflective Practice course consists of 3 x 75 minute online sessions. Each session is held 2-3 months apart during the school term.
