Ange holds a Bachelor of Education from UTAS and has enjoyed a career spanning 34 years with the Department of Education in Tasmania, working across a variety of school contexts as a passionate teacher, leader and principal. With a background in early childhood education, she particularly enjoys working with educators in this sector. Ange has also taken up the system roles of Assessment Support Leader and School Improvement Leader during her career and has presented at numerous conferences. She enjoys the opportunity to work closely with school leaders to build the capacity of themselves and others and knows the value of coaching to support school improvement. Ange has been using coaching approaches since 2007 when she attended her first coaching training and learned the power of coaching to support, challenge and empower others. Creating a culture where respectful, open coaching conversations and feedback are used to enhance learning is an area where Ange can support school leaders.

Ange loves building communities of learners, inclusive of all stakeholders, who approach learning with curiosity, creativity and a sense of wonder. Ange co-founded the 24 Carrot Garden Program in 2014 which has grown to support 24 schools in Tasmania with implementing kitchen garden programs.

In 2016, Ange was selected by JATNET to join Australian Leaders Tour of Japan to promote and champion Japanese teaching in Australian schools. She presented professional learning for Tasmanian Japanese teachers and principals on the importance of intercultural connections and language learning in the current global context. Ange chose to maintain her role as Japanese teacher throughout her principalship, enjoying the connection with students and families. She is passionate about wellbeing and loves to support educators and school leaders to make positive wellbeing habits a priority in the current complex world of education.
